John Sjösvärd (1890-1958)

Born in Linkoping, Sjösvärd studied at the Higher School of Art and Design and graduated as a drawing teacher in 1915. He was known as a painter of military subjects and all things equestrian. He has also worked as a commercial artist and book illus trator. In1956 he designed the medal for the equestrian Olympic Games in Stockholm.
