Andrew Maclaren

Born in London, Andrew Maclaren studied at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts. In 1964 he graduated from the Royal College of Art with a 1st class degree and the RCA Silver Medal for work with special distinction.  A year later, he was appointed lecturer of Fine Art at Newcastle University, where he then became head of painting until he retired in 1993.
