James Hamilton McKenzie (1875-1926) ARSA
James Hamilton Mackenzie was a painter and etcher who studied at the Glasgow School of Art. During the First World War he sketched in East Africa and later travelled in Europe. He was elected an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers and a member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours in 1910 and showed some 75 works at the Glasgow Institute, 57 at the RSW, 49 at the Royal Scottish Academy as well as at Liverpool and Manchester.
