Matthew Draper (b.1973)
A Staffordshire born painter Matthew studied at Walsall College of Art and Falmouth College of Art in the 1990s. He has lived and worked in Scotland since 1997. His public awards include the Alexander Graham Munro Travel Award at the RSW in 2000, the City of Glasgow Prize at the RGI in 2002, the John Murray Thomson Award at the RSA in 2006 and the Chairman's Purchase Prize at the Discerning Eye in 2007. Most recently in 2008 he was awarded the Shell Premier Award at Aberdeen Museum and Art Gallery. His work is held in the collections of the Bank of Scotland and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow.
