Tom Hoar (b.1978)
Born in 1978, Tom Hoar has established a reputation as a refreshingly talented, up and coming young British artist and has exhibited with the New English Art Club, Royal Society of British Portrait Painters, the RBA and the Royal Watercolour Society.
Tom has a BA Honours degree in History of Art and has attended life drawing classes at the Royal Academy. Ultimately though he credits his artistic training to his family background. Son of an artist and grandson of an architect, Tom has a natural talent, artistic flair and striking ability unconstrained by formal training.
In April 2012 Tom exhibited with The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, following a 12 month association accompanying the Regiment on their official ceremonial duties and daily routine at Hyde Park Barracks.
Since then he has turned his attention to the Circus spending time with Giffords Circus and on a visit to Transylvania focusing on circus life and its gypsy heritage. This culminated in Tom Hoar's Circus exhibition to sell-out success in October 2013 and a second Solo Show in 2015.
In February 2016 Tom travelled to India through Rajasthan from Delhi to Jodhpur and out to the old fort in Nagaur for the annual cattle fair.
In February 2018 Tom spent 2 weeks in Jaipur and Udaipur. His solo show 'India 18' was held in November 2018.
Based in Dorset, Tom paints the local coastline and visits Cornwall and Ireland regularly.
