This painting is part of a series that examines the understated beauty of moss. Sarah’s fascination with moss began when she was asked to make work for the bicentenary of the great Victorian writer John Ruskin’s birth. Her work will be exhibited at Brantwood, Ruskin’s beautiful former home in the Lake District. The historic house and gardens inspired Sarah to begin including moss and other stonewall related fauna and flora in her delicate paintings.
