New Acquisitions represent the last two or three years of eclectic, and somewhat frenetic, picture buying. The general trend has been mid-20th century and as usual very figurative in taste but otherwise the collections cover many different subjects and national schools. The Nordic painters are increasingly well represented but we have still found some of the most interesting works in North America and, for the first time, the old USSR. This show is something of a wild card amongst our normal contemporary fare but the secondary market has always been an important element of our participation at many art fairs and it allows us to introduce you to the relative affordability of works by the many undervalued painters of this period.
