Knud Ejnar Horup (1926-1973)
A Danish painter best known for his modernist approach to Scandinavian landscapes settings. Horup attended the Århus Technical School and then the Hovedskous School of Painting in Gothenburg. He exhibited widely in Denmark during the 1950s to great critical acclaim, notably at the Young Art show at Arhus in 1951 and the annual Autumn show at the Charlottenburg Palace in 1952 and 1953. He was also an enthusiastic amateur rally driver and was particularly proud of his Austin Healey 300 bought from a successful month of sales. He died at the youthful age of 47.
