Born in Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow, Catherine trained at Dun Laoighaire School of Art and Design. Upon graduating, she travelled extensively in the U.S.A., U.K. and Canary Islands before settling in Dublin to work as a freelance illustrator.
Then, in 1993, Catherine resumed her traveIs and took up a post as a lecturer in Applied Art & Design at a Teacher Training College in Zimbabwe. It was here that she really began to paint. Upon her return to Dublin two years later, Catherine maintained this new, painterly direction and embarked upon commissions for wall hangings and large paintings. She worked on such commissions between 1995 and 2005 and, in her own words, has ‘only really started to develop personal vision and direction for my work since then.’
Catherine’s work features in many private and public collections including; Bank of Ireland, Glanbia, Private Clinic, St. James Hospital, Carlow Institute of Technology, E.P.A. (Environmental Protection Agency), John De Vere, Haberty Trust and The Department of Education.
Catherine has two children aged 13 and 9, and lives with her partner and family in Co. Kilkenny, Ireland.
