Chester born artist Chloë Holt RCA FRSA has been painting for 11 years since leaving University. 2012 was a year of recognition for Chloë. In this year she became one of the youngest artist’s ever to be elected as a member of the ‘Royal Cambrian Academy’ and won the prestigious ‘Sir Kyffin Williams Drawing Prize’. Since then her career has gone from strength to strength with several sell-out exhibitions over the last couple of years and moving to second studio in Harrogate .
Much of Chloë’s inspiration comes from everyday objects and captures the spirit of places and past times.
“I’ve always been drawn towards art, culture and history. I suppose a need to explore the richness of the world is ingrained in our psyches. I'm interested in place, things, objects and feelings which connect us to our pasts and make us what we are today. Exploring layers of cultural history. I like to capture the spirit of the everyday in things in the world that surround us. I appreciate the beauty and light in life. From the rustic, the banal and the imperfect through to the tiniest glimpses of details that jog our minds into remembering. Every painting has its own spirit whether it be a landscape or a still life. I'm obsessed with colour and composition and conversation between subject matters, what has gone before and what comes next.”
